Itinerary:
Cartagena is less than an hour away from Torrevieja. this historic town in the Murcian area offers a great setting for a visit. There are mountains, sea, spectacular historical buildings, statues and monuments.A camera is definitely needed!
First stop, the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, where you can marvel at artifacts dating back almost 3000 years, which were retrieved from the bottom of the sea, among other things. After the museum, take the panoramic lift to the top of Cartagena to see the medieval castle, which also has magnificent views over the city.
While on the top you can also see one of the best-preserved theaters of the Roman period. On the walk down through the pedestrian streets of the city centre, admire the magnificent buildings and statues. Enjoy lunch in the centre and taste authentic Spanish flavours.
From the port, take a catamaran (45mins) and have a drink while admiring the coastal views.
